Works Minister Reviews Infrastructure, Water Development with Egyptian Officials

Cairo: Ibrahim bin Hassan Al Hawaj, Minister of Works, met with Kamel Al Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Transport and Industry of the Arab Republic of Egypt. The meeting discussed programmes to develop and maintain road networks to ensure their sustainability and ease of mobility, as well as the use of artificial intelligence in road monitoring and traffic management.

According to Bahrain News Agency, as part of his visit, Minister Al Hawaj also met with several Egyptian officials to review Egypt's experience in infrastructure and transport development and explore opportunities to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in these vital sectors. He highlighted that the deep-rooted Bahrain-Egypt relations represent an outstanding model of strategic cooperation and partnership, stressing the importance of continuing to bolster these ties at all levels, particularly in urban development and infrastructure.

Minister Al Hawaj also met with Dr. Hani Sewilam, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, where they examined modern programmes for improving the water system through advanced technology and digital transformation, including satellite technology and artificial intelligence, to enhance water resource management, alongside expanding water treatment and reuse.

In his meeting with Dr. Sherif El Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, Minister Al Hawaj reviewed Egypt's experience in improving sewage services and upgrading operational systems. The meetings were attended by Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal, Ambassador of Bahrain to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the Arab League; Shaikh Mishaal bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Works; and Fathi Abdulla Al Farea, Assistant Undersecretary for Sanitary Engineering.
