President of the University of Bahrain (UoB), Dr. Jawaher bin Shaheen Al Mudhahki, received today South Korean Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Hye Kwan Chung, and discussed with him ways of boosting academic and research relations.
She praised the advanced level of South Korea’s higher education establishments, pointing out the role of UoB’s King Sejong Institute for Teaching Korean in informing the students about the South Korean language and culture.
For his part, the South Korean ambassador congratulated Dr. Al Mudhahki on the issuance of the Royal Decree number 102 for 2021 appointing her as President of the University of Bahrain.
It is worth noting that UoB opened King Sejong Institute for Teaching Korean in October 2017 after signing a memorandum of understanding with South Korea’s embassy in June 2017. The establishment of the institute aims to boost cooperation between UoB and South Korea and inform the students about the South Korean culture.
