Manama: The Ministry of Education has today distributed 13,000 copies of “My Road to IELTS and TOEFL” manual to XII graders in 41 public high schools across Bahrain.
The move is part of the ministry’s plan to train students and prepare them to take the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) and IELTS (The International English Language Testing System) proficiency tests.
The ministry has already distribute IELTS and TOEFL guides to students’ parents as part of the plan.
Third secondary students enrolled in different tracks will take tomorrow, Monday, a pre-test, which will measure their abilities in the four basic skills required for these proficiency tests, which are (listening, reading, writing, and speaking).
The pre-test has been scheduled within the school day timetable. Next May, students will take a post-test to measure the extent of development that has been achieved throughout their training period this semester.
