Manama: Under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, the inauguration ceremony of the Royal Medical Services (RMS) Field Hospital and the opening of the RMS Strategic Warehouse took place today at the Mohammed Bin Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa Specialist Cardiac Centre. His Majesty deputised Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), who assigned Lieutenant General Abdullah bin Hassan Al Nuaimi, Minister of Defence Affairs, to attend the event, marking the 58th anniversary of the BDF.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the ceremony was attended by key figures including Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, President of the Supreme Council of Health, and Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Adviser for Financial and Technical Affairs at the BDF General Command. Major General Dr. Shaikh Fahad bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Commander of the RMS, expressed gratitude to His Majesty the King and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, highlighting the support for developing the health and military medical system, including the new facilities.
Major General Dr. Shaikh Fahad bin Khalifa described the field hospital as an advanced model of medical care in emergency situations, designed with mobile and expandable units equipped with modern medical technologies. These include examination and triage units, operating theatres, intensive care units, radiology and laboratory facilities, and other equipment essential for providing integrated healthcare swiftly.
He further elaborated that the strategic warehouse is a unique project designed for efficient storage and management of medical and pharmaceutical supplies. It features precise control of temperature and humidity and diversified storage areas to ensure the sustainability of medical supplies under all circumstances.
Lt. Gen. Al Nuaimi toured the new facilities, reviewing various units and being briefed on the healthcare services provided. He unveiled the commemorative plaque for the RMS Strategic Warehouse and conducted an inspection tour of its modern equipment.
Lt. Gen. Al Nuaimi praised the contributions of the RMS Field Hospital and Strategic Warehouse in enhancing the therapeutic services within the BDF medical systems and commended the RMS for its ongoing efforts to provide advanced healthcare through modern facilities and qualified personnel. He reiterated the commitment to continuously improving medical services with advanced technologies in healthcare and treatment.
