Manama: Ambassador Abdullah Abdullatif Abdullah, the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva and Vienna, met with Monica Juma, Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna and Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). This meeting was held at the Permanent Mission of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), where Bahrain currently holds the presidency of the 46th session.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the discussions focused on enhancing cooperation between GCC member states, the United Nations Office at Vienna, and the UNODC. Both parties shared perspectives on several topics of shared interest. The meeting underscored the necessity of ongoing coordination and collaboration between the GCC member states and the UNODC to support security, stability, and strengthen partnerships through joint initiatives and programs.
The dialogue emphasized the importance of building capacities and exchanging expertise in areas of mutual interest, reflecting a commitment to furthering bilateral cooperation. This strategic engagement aims to contribute significantly to the implementation of joint programs and initiatives that benefit all parties involved.
