Royal Court Minister Receives NIHR’s 13th Annual Report

Manama: Assigned by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of the Royal Court, received Ali Ahmed Al Derazi, President of the National Institution of Human Rights (NIHR), who presented the institution's 13th annual report for 2025 on human rights efforts and developments in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

According to Bahrain News Agency, during the meeting, the Minister conveyed His Majesty's greetings to the NIHR, its members, and General Secretariat, commending the achievements outlined in the annual report, which reflect the Kingdom's human rights gains and continued progress under its comprehensive development process. He affirmed His Majesty's commitment to and continued support for strengthening the human rights framework and upholding the principles of the rule of law and justice.

The Minister commended the NIHR's regional and international achievements, including its presidency of the Arab Network for National Human Rights Institutions, as well as its organisation, in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), of a regional workshop on "Responsible AI Governance in Arab States". He affirmed that these initiatives reflect the prominent role of national expertise and accumulated experience, as well as the Kingdom's continued commitment to multilateral cooperation at the regional and international levels in developing human rights frameworks related to modern technologies, thereby enhancing Bahrain's role as a leading hub for human rights and development efforts.

For his part, Al Derazi expressed his sincere gratitude to His Majesty for the unlimited royal support extended to the institution, enabling it to carry out its mandate and mission with independence and efficiency. He noted that the annual report highlights the institution's key efforts and initiatives, in addition to its recommendations, field monitoring findings, and training and awareness programmes implemented throughout the year.
