Abu dhabi: His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, engaged in discussions with Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs of the Republic of India.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the dialogue focused on regional developments and the impact of Iranian missile attacks targeting the UAE and other countries. These attacks have implications for regional and international security, international navigation, energy supplies, and the global economy.
The Indian Foreign Minister expressed India's solidarity with the UAE, underscoring support for measures to protect the UAE's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the security of its citizens, residents, and visitors.
HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed acknowledged the significance of the visit, emphasizing the strategic relations between the UAE and India and India's support for UAE's security. He also affirmed the safety of all residents and visitors in the UAE.
The discussions included a review of regional developments following US President Donald Trump's announcement of a two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran. Both sides emphasized the need for international efforts to achieve sustainable peace and security in the region, alongside other topics of mutual concern to strengthen strategic relations.
