Bahrain Ambassador to Italy Discusses Regional Security with Italian Defence Minister

Rome: Osama bin Abdullah Al Absi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Italian Republic, met with Guido Crosetto, Minister of Defence of Italy, at the Ministry's headquarters in Rome. Ambassador Al Absi commended the ties between Bahrain and Italy and its development in all domains, emphasising the importance of expanding upon current achievements to further mutual strategic interests. He also commended Italy's proactive role, alongside international allies, in maintaining regional and international peace. He expressed the Kingdom's appreciation for Italy's solidarity and support for Bahrain's national security.

According to Bahrain News Agency, addressing regional stability, Ambassador Al Absi reaffirmed Bahrain's firm stance, calling for Iran's full commitment to an immediate cessation of all hostilities and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. He emphasised the critical need for compliance with UN Security Council Resolution 2817, which condemned recent attacks targeting civilians, residential areas, and energy infrastructure across Bahrain, the GCC, and Jordan, labelling such actions as flagrant violations of international law.

On his part, Minister Crosetto expressed Italy's strong condemnation of these blatant attacks. He commended the Kingdom's resilience and cohesion in the face of such challenges, reaffirming Italy's commitment to supporting the security and stability of the Kingdom.
