UAE and Brazil Sign Agreement to Boost Civil Aviation Safety Cooperation

Montreal: The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) of the United Arab Emirates has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding and a Working Agreement with Brazil's National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) to enhance cooperation in civil aviation safety. These agreements were formalized during the 42nd Session of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) General Assembly held in Montreal.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the MoU was signed by Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director General of the GCAA, and Tiago Chagas Faierstein, President of ANAC. The agreement aims to bolster cooperation through the exchange of information, technical visits, joint training programs, and the adoption of international best practices in aviation safety.

The Working Agreement, signed by Aqeel Ahmed Al Zarouni, Assistant Director General of Aviation Safety Affairs at the GCAA, and Roberto Jos© Silveira Honorato, Head of Airworthiness at ANAC, will act as an executive mechanism to facilitate mutual recognition of certificates and technical reports. It also aims to improve coordination regarding safety approvals.

These agreements demonstrate the commitment of the UAE and Brazil to advancing their collaborative efforts in civil aviation safety and to enhancing their roles in global aviation security and stability.
