Transportation Ministry Partners with APM Terminals for Khalifa Bin Salman Port Development

Manama: A letter of intent was signed between the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications and APM Terminals, the operator of Khalifa Bin Salman Port. This agreement aims to advance the port's infrastructure and develop national talent in Bahrain's logistics sector.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, emphasized the significance of collaborating with APM Terminals to enhance operational capacity and environmental sustainability through the integration of advanced technologies and innovative solutions. He stated that these efforts will contribute to the long-term economic growth of Bahrain.

Dr. Shaikh Abdullah further highlighted Bahrain's dedication to strengthening ties with international companies to advance the transport, ports, and maritime sectors. He pointed out the ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure quality, which will bolster Bahrain's position as a regional logistics hub and support sustainable development in alignment with Economic Vision 2030.

Jonathan Goldner, APM Terminals' regional Chief Executive for Asia and the Middle East, expressed the company's commitment to expanding its strategic partnership with Bahrain. He noted their focus on enhancing port capacity, providing advanced logistics services, and developing human capital to align with environmental and sustainable development goals.
