Abu Dhabi, On the sidelines of the 63rd International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) conference in Abu Dhabi, Fatima bint Jaffar Al Sairafi, Minister of Tourism, held a meeting with Jurriaen Sleijster, President of MCI Group, a prominent event management organisation, to explore new collaborative opportunities aimed at attracting and securing prestigious international events, conventions, and exhibitions in Bahrain. The meeting built upon the recently signed MOU between Exhibition World Bahrain (EWB) and MCI Middle East, focusing on innovative strategies to engage both international and regional audiences and position Bahrain as a premier destination for high-profile conferences and expos. Both parties identified potential events aligned with Bahrain Economic Vision 2030 and the Kingdom's Tourism Strategy 2022 - 2026 goals. The Minister stated, "We are firmly committed to advancing our MICE industry and expanding our offerings. By prioritising EWB and utilising MCI's regional and international n etworks, we aim to attract high - profile conventions and exhibitions and target priority sectors aligned with our tourism strategy for 2022 - 2026 and Bahrain Economic Vision 2030. Our partnership with MCI is designed to prioritise Bahrain as a preferred location for MCI - managed events, with a proactive approach to securing significant new gatherings at EWB." The meeting identified promising sectors for event acquisition to support Bahrain's long-term goal of enhancing business tourism, emphasising market research, intelligence sharing, and leveraging networks to assess conference and exhibition feasibility. Alexander John, Regional Director of MCI Group, Ajay Bhojwani, Managing Director of MCI Middle East, and the EWB team participated, reinforcing a commitment to collaboration across MCI's global operations.
