Tamkeen’s Skills Bahrain Launches “Career World” to Guide Students on Career Paths

Manama: Skills Bahrain, an initiative under the Labour Fund "Tamkeen", has announced the launch of "Career World", Bahrain's first specialized platform dedicated to career guidance for secondary school students. The announcement was made during an event attended by ministers, senior officials, and representatives from both the public and private sectors.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the "Career World" platform is designed to equip students with up-to-date labour market insights, supporting informed educational and career choices that match their talents and align with the needs of Bahrain's economic sectors. This initiative from Skills Bahrain operates under "Tamkeen" in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, the Higher Education Council, and utilizes data powered by the Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA).

The launch of the "Career World" platform aligns with Skills Bahrain's ongoing efforts to provide data-driven tools that support the labour market. It follows the earlier introduction of the Employability Skills Portal dedicated to labour market analysis and job creation.

The platform aims to assist students, parents, and career counsellors by providing reliable labour market insights to foster informed and sustainable academic and career choices. It also serves as a comprehensive data resource for career counsellors to support their guidance efforts, helping students align their ambitions with market realities.

Offering comprehensive data on more than 160 professions, the platform is continuously updated to include related academic specializations, required skills, and salary ranges. This equips students with a practical view of career opportunities. Additionally, the platform highlights key economic sectors, workforce sizes, and provides simplified descriptions of each profession and its core responsibilities, enabling students to understand labour market requirements and prepare from an early stage.

To enhance engagement, the platform features multimedia content, including introductory videos about professions and real-world career experiences, offering students a more interactive learning journey.

Maha Abdulhameed Mofeez, Chief Executive of the Labour Fund "Tamkeen", emphasized that the platform's launch reflects Tamkeen's commitment to developing national talent and preparing them for the labour market. She stated, "The Career World platform is a pioneering initiative built on real labour market data, helping students and youth make informed educational and career decisions. By linking their skills with the needs of the labour market and economic sectors, the platform contributes to building a generation that is more prepared and competitive in the workforce."

Accessible at www.careerworld.bh, the platform allows students and stakeholders to explore career pathways and utilize its interactive guidance resources.

The launch of the "Career World" platform is in line with Tamkeen's strategic priorities for 2026, focusing on areas with significant economic impact and benefits for Bahrainis. It underscores Tamkeen's role in shaping career pathways through programs connecting skills with labour market opportunities, adopting innovative approaches to stimulate private sector growth and financing, and implementing programs enhancing the Fund's efficiency and governance.
