Manama: Shaikha Maram bint Isa Al Khalifa, Secretary General of the National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD), honoured the winners of the annual Bahrain Garden Club competitions during an awards ceremony. Zahra Abdulmalik, Chairperson of the Bahrain Garden Club, along with officials and individuals interested in agriculture and environmental affairs, attended the ceremony.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikha Maram bint Isa commended the level of participation, noting the competitions' role in promoting agriculture and tree planting, encouraging innovation, and raising awareness of sustainability and environmental preservation. Awards were presented across various categories, including home gardens, photography, specialised agricultural displays, sustainable gardens, and school gardens.
Schools were also recognised for their achievements in garden production, educational gardens, and garden art, with awards presented to both government and private schools. At the conclusion of the ceremony, Shaikha Maram bint Isa congratulated the winners and commended the Bahrain Garden Club's efforts in organising initiatives that promote community participation and support Bahrain's efforts to advance agriculture and environmental sustainability.
