Manama: Shaikh Dr. Rashid bin Mohammed bin Futtais Al Hajeri, Chairman of the Sunni Endowments Council, conducted a field tour to inspect preparations at the Eid Al Fitr prayer grounds. The grounds will be opened across all governorates of the Kingdom of Bahrain to welcome worshippers, in observance of the Sunnah of the Prophet Mohamed (PBUH).
According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Al Hajeri stated that the government places significant importance on equipping mosques and outdoor prayer areas to provide a suitable environment for worshippers and preserve this Sunnah. He added that the initiative aligns with the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the government led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
The chairman mentioned that the purpose of the tour was to ensure the readiness of the Eid Al Fitr prayer grounds and to facilitate all necessary arrangements so worshippers can pray with ease and in a spiritual atmosphere. During the tour, he reviewed the ongoing preparations, including carpets, audio and electronic systems, electrical safety, and entry and exit plans to ensure smooth movement and avoid overcrowding.
Dr. Al Hajeri highlighted that the main prayer grounds can accommodate around 85,000 worshippers, with 18 major outdoor locations covering an area of 52,000 square metres across the governorates. He emphasized that 14 prayer grounds are designated for Muslim communities, with a capacity of 18,000 worshippers, and added that mosques will also remain open for Eid prayers.
The chairman extended his appreciation to all partners and supporters who assisted in preparing the Eid prayer grounds. These include the Ministry of Municipalities and Agriculture Affairs, Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Information, General Sports Authority, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Youth Affairs, Electricity and Water Authority, King Hamad Hospital, Bahrain Defence Force, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Housing, Ministry of Works, government hospitals, associations, and community outreach centres.
