Manama: The Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA) has announced the 13th edition of the eGovernment Excellence Award 2025, with submissions open from May 21st to June 28th, 2025. The competition invites public and private organisations, NGOs, and individuals to submit their ICT initiatives through the official award website, www.egovaward.bh.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the 2025 awards are categorized into Public and Private Sector Awards, which include Best Website, Best Practice in eParticipation, Best Integrated eServices, Best Work Environment for Digital Innovation, Best Utilisation of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Best Project for Digital Transformation, Best Applications for Smart Devices, and the Citizen Award category featuring the Best Digital Idea or Initiative.

The Information and eGovernment Authority has highlighted that the Best Digital Initiative Award is designed to encourage individuals to propose launch or enhancement of eServices that support national digital development goals.

Public and private sector organisations boasting an innovative digital environment that fosters digital transformation, such as advanced infrastructure, digital skills training, and policies driven by innovation, are encouraged to compete for the Best Work Environment for Digital Innovation Award. This award aims to showcase exemplary practices that others can emulate.

The Best Utilisation of Artificial Intelligence Award recognizes organisations that effectively leverage AI to improve services and operations. This category serves as a platform for presenting AI innovations and learning about national efforts in the Kingdom. Additional categories open to organisations include Best Website, Best Practice in eParticipation, and Best Integrated eServices.

The Best Applications for Smart Devices Award is specifically targeted at the private sector and NGOs, aligning with the government's initiative to consolidate mobile apps, offering services through three main applications: MyGov for citizens, AlTajir for businesses and investors, and Bahrain App for visitors.

Participants from all sectors, including NGOs and individuals, must ensure that their submissions have not previously won the 2023 eGovernment Excellence Award. It is advised to review the eligibility criteria detailed on the award's website before submitting entries.

The iGA plans to conduct a briefing session for interested participants, with more information to be shared soon. For additional details, participants can reach out to the Government Services Contact Centre at 80008001 or visit www.egovaward.bh.
