Social Development Ministry Undersecretary Inspects Production Units and Training Workshops at Mubarak Jassim Kanoo Social Centre

Manama: Zeyad Adel Darwish, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Development, paid an inspection visit to the Mubarak Jassim Kanoo Social Centre, where he reviewed the production units and training workshops as part of the Ministry's efforts to follow up on social and economic empowerment programmes and support productive Bahraini families.

According to Bahrain News Agency, during the visit, the Undersecretary emphasised that the production units and training workshops provide an integrated opportunity for productive families, beginning with the acquisition of skills and knowledge through specialised training. This is followed by applying these skills in production units equipped to the highest health and technical standards, and culminating in the marketing of products through the centre's permanent store. He noted that this cycle creates wider opportunities for families to expand their activities and increase their income.

He explained that this integrated system enables families to develop high-quality food and handicraft products, enhancing their ability to compete in the local market and promoting a culture of productivity and self-reliance. He added that such initiatives represent a valuable addition to the Ministry's social and economic empowerment efforts and contribute to the development of the national economy.

The centre comprises 18 specialised production units focused on food industries, in addition to six advanced training workshops in food, handicrafts, arts, and other productive fields, offering training programmes that accommodate different talents and interests. It also provides a package of practical courses and programmes to develop participants' skills and refine their creativity.

The centre further includes a permanent store dedicated to showcasing and marketing the products of productive Bahraini families. The store serves as an integrated marketing platform, enabling the community to view and directly support family-made products, enhancing their commercial presence and opening greater opportunities for growth and expansion.
