Manama: Osama bin Saleh Al Alawi, Minister of Social Development and Chairman of the National Committee for the Elderly, highlighted the Kingdom of Bahrain's commitment to elderly care under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He made the statement at an event organised by the committee to mark the International Day of Older Persons at the Mubarak Jassim Kanoo Comprehensive Social Centre.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Minister Al Alawi underscored efforts to develop services that enhance the quality of life for the elderly and commended the role of individuals and institutions supporting elderly care. The event also honoured contributors and parental day care institutions for their efforts.
The committee reiterated its commitment to programmes and policies that promote elderly care and active participation in national development.
