Manama: Osama bin Saleh Al Alawi, Minister of Social Development, met with members of the 11th intake of the Prime Minister's Fellowship Programme during their field visit to centres affiliated with the ministry.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Minister Al Alawi emphasized the significance of the PM Fellowship Programme as a national platform for preparing and enhancing the capabilities of national cadres in leadership, management, and institutional work. He highlighted that the programme is crucial in equipping the government sector with qualified national talents capable of meeting development and innovation requirements.
Minister Al Alawi underscored the importance of empowering Bahraini national cadres with specialized knowledge and expertise as a foundational element in supporting the comprehensive development process led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He also stressed the role of national programmes in providing Bahrainis with quality opportunities to gain practical experience and learn from successful government practices.
During the meeting, Minister Al Alawi reviewed the ministry's efforts to develop the social services sector and enhance partnerships with government entities and civil society organizations to improve service quality for citizens. He highlighted programmes aimed at empowering Bahraini families and enhancing their economic and social capabilities, emphasizing the importance of national integration in achieving development goals.
The visit included a tour of the Social Protection and Care Complex in Hamad Town, where the fellowship members reviewed the services and programmes provided to beneficiary groups, as well as the complex's role in delivering care, protection, and social support. They also visited the Mubarak Jassim Kanoo Comprehensive Social Centre to understand the ministry's role, areas of work, and major projects and initiatives in social care, family empowerment, and community development.
The fellowship members were briefed on the centre's services, including social assistance, family guidance, and support programmes for families and individuals. They also toured production units and training workshops affiliated with the centre, which focus on developing vocational and professional skills to support economic and social empowerment.
The members of the 11th intake expressed appreciation to the minister for the opportunity to review the ministry's programmes and projects, acknowledging that field visits enrich practical knowledge and enhance readiness to support government development efforts and serve the Kingdom efficiently.
