HRH Crown Prince and Prime Minister Commends Bahrain’s Achievement in Religious Tolerance

Manama: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today met with His Excellency Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Hamad Global Centre for Coexistence and Tolerance, at Gudaibiya Palace.

According to Bahrain News Agency, HE Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed presented HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister with the Kingdom of Bahrain's Guinness World Records certificate. This certificate acknowledges the Kingdom as having the highest density of places of worship for different religions. This achievement marks a significant international recognition of Bahrain's dedication to religious tolerance and coexistence, reinforcing its global role in promoting religious freedoms.

During the meeting, HRH the Crown Prince emphasized Bahrain's approach, which is rooted in coexistence, tolerance, and pluralism, values upheld by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. HRH the Crown Prince noted the openness of Bahrainis to various cultures and beliefs, which has enhanced the Kingdom's position as a global hub for cultural and religious diversity.

HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad commended this international recognition, noting it as an addition to Bahrain's record of accomplishments across multiple domains. He reaffirmed the Government's commitment to implementing the visions and directives of His Majesty the King, aiming to strengthen Bahrain's unique model further. This commitment is demonstrated through continued support for initiatives that promote tolerance and religious freedoms, ensuring the freedom to practice religious rituals, and maintaining respect for all religions.

HRH the Crown Prince highlighted Bahrain's enduring commitment to fostering a culture of coexistence among different cultures and communities, while promoting peace and mutual respect. He also acknowledged the significant role played by the King Hamad Global Centre for Coexistence and Tolerance in enhancing Bahrain's stature, extending his best wishes for the Centre's continued success in achieving its goals.

The Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications expressed gratitude and appreciation to HRH the Crown Prince for the support of the Centre's initiatives. HE Al Khalifa emphasized that the Kingdom's achievement reflects Bahrain's approach founded on coexistence, tolerance, and respect for religious freedoms, guided by the visions of His Majesty the King and the directives of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

The meeting was also attended by HE Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, and HE Hamad bin Faisal Al Maliki, Minister of Cabinet Affairs.
