Manama: The Social Insurance Organisation (SIO) announced that it has begun applying Article 12 of the Unified Insurance Protection System for GCC citizens working outside their home countries. This ensures continued insurance coverage under Law (68) of 2006.
According to Bahrain News Agency, employers are required to review their insurance status, settle any dues, and ensure timely payments to avoid penalties, particularly within Bahrain's private sector. An online workshop is scheduled to be held soon to explain the changes, with details to be shared via official channels.
