Manama: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, has announced the issuance of Edict (44) of 2025. This edict pertains to the restructuring of the National Commission for Childhood, following a proposal from the Minister of Social Development and subsequent approval from the Cabinet.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the edict outlines the formation of the commission under the leadership of the Minister of Social Development. The commission will include representatives from various key sectors, such as the Ministry of Social Development, the Supreme Council for Women, the Public Prosecution, the Ministry of Labour, the Ministry of Information, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, among others. Specific roles include the Assistant Undersecretary for Community Development, a member from the Supreme Council for Women, and the Head of the Family and Child Prosecution.
Additional members include representatives from the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Health, the University of Bahrain, and the Ministry of Youth Affairs. The commission also involves members from the National Institution for Human Rights, the Children and Mothers Welfare Society, and the Our Responsibility Society. Certain entities listed in the edict are required to designate their representatives on the committee.
The edict stipulates that the membership term for the commission is set for two years, with the possibility of renewal. Furthermore, relevant ministers are tasked with the implementation of its provisions. The edict is effective immediately upon issuance and will be published in the Official Gazette.
