Manama: The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) announced the implementation of 1,167 inspection campaigns and visits from June 29 to July 12, 2025, resulting in the detention of 19 violating and irregular workers, and the deportation of 242 violators.
According to Bahrain News Agency, these campaigns also uncovered several violations related to the provisions of various regulating laws, particularly those concerning the Labour Market Regulatory Authority and the Residency Laws in Bahrain. Legal measures were taken in response to these violations.
The LMRA conducted 1,146 inspection visits to various shops across all governorates, alongside 21 joint inspection campaigns. These included one campaign in the Capital Governorate, seven in Muharraq Governorate, three in the Northern Governorate, and ten in the Southern Governorate.
Government entities participating in these campaigns included the Ministry of Interior, represented by the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), the respective Police Directorate of each governorate, the Coast Guard Headquarters, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, and the Social Insurance Organization.
The Authority confirmed ongoing collaboration with government agencies to intensify inspection campaigns across Bahrain, aiming to address any violations or practices that could negatively impact the stability and competitiveness of the labour market or harm the economic and social security of the Kingdom.
The Labour Market Regulatory Authority urged society members to support government efforts in addressing illegal labour practices by reporting violations through the electronic form on the authority's website, www.lmra.gov.bh, by calling the authority's call centre at 17506055, or via the government's Suggestions and Complaints System (Tawasul).
