Rabat: Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, participated in the third South-South Parliamentary Dialogue Forum, held in Rabat under the patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Morocco. The event was organized by the Moroccan House of Councillors in collaboration with the Association of Senates, Shura, and Equivalent Councils in Africa and the Arab World. It focused on "Interregional and intercontinental dialogues in the countries of the South: an essential lever for meeting the new challenges of international cooperation and achieving peace, security, stability and shared development".
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Shura Chairman highlighted Bahrain's commitment to supporting international cooperation among Southern countries under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the government led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. Al Saleh emphasized the importance of joint diplomatic action and political dialogue, particularly concerning the Palestinian cause, and advocated for a two-state solution based on international legitimacy.
Al Saleh also pointed out Bahrain's initiatives in launching joint cooperation projects to enhance partnerships and knowledge exchange with other countries. He stressed that cooperation among the countries of the south has become a necessity due to escalating global challenges, such as economic crises, climate change, geopolitical shifts, and rising conflicts. He urged the unification of efforts and the establishment of strategic partnerships based on effective dialogue and constructive cooperation to benefit southern peoples and improve their international standing.
The Chairman expressed appreciation to Morocco for hosting the forum and voiced hope that the event would yield constructive recommendations to promote development, stability, and cooperation among southern countries.
