Manama: The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) announced the execution of 1,248 inspection campaigns and visits between April 20-26, which resulted in the detention of 10 violating and irregular workers, while 100 violators were deported. The authority's efforts aimed to uphold the provisions of regulating laws, particularly the LMRA and Residency Laws in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the inspection operations identified several violations concerning these laws. Legal actions were initiated where necessary to address the observed violations. A total of 1,236 inspection visits were conducted across various shops in all governorates, complemented by 12 joint inspection campaigns. These included eight campaigns in the Capital Governorate, two in the Muharraq Governorate, and one each in the Northern and Southern Governorates.
Government entities such as the Ministry of Interior, represented by the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), the Governorate's respective Police Directorate, the Coast Guard Headquarters, the Supreme Council for Environment, and the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture participated in these campaigns. The LMRA emphasized the ongoing collaborative efforts with government agencies to intensify inspection campaigns across the Kingdom to prevent violations that could destabilize the labour market or threaten economic and social security.
The LMRA encouraged the public to support government efforts by reporting illegal labour practices. Violations can be reported via the electronic form on the authority's website, www.lmra.gov.bh, by calling the call centre at 17506055, or through the government's Suggestions and Complaints System (Tawasul).
