Russian FM: Moscow And Beijing Are Developing A Multipolar World Order That Takes Into Account The Interests Of All Countries

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov affirmed that Russia and China offer the international community a constructive alternative to the policy of Western hegemony, and work together to create conditions for a multipolar world order.

Lavrov said in a video message to the participants in the eighth international conference, “Russia and China: Cooperation in a New Era,” organized by the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in Beijing: “Moscow and Beijing offer a constructive alternative to Western policy, not in words, but in deeds, and work together to create the conditions for a multipolar world order that takes into account the interests of all countries and respects the cultural and civilizational identity of all peoples.

He considered, "The current stage is a turning point in global development. Russia and China are facing strong pressure from the collective West led by the United States, represented by illegal financial and economic sanctions, unprecedented in scope and depth, outside the scope of the UN Security Council."

Lavrov stressed that "the ruling circles in the West see the sovereign path of Russia and China as an obstacle to their global hegemony based on military and political dictates, and financial, economic and technological monopoly."

Sino-Russian relations have witnessed remarkable development in recent years, especially after the deterioration of Russia's relations with Western countries due to the Ukrainian crisis, and China is currently Russia's first trading partner, while Russia ranks ninth in terms of China's trade partners
