Royal Saudi Air Force Utilizes Advanced Aviation System for Pilgrim Safety During Hajj

Riyadh: The Royal Saudi Air Force is actively participating with an advanced aviation system that supports security, logistical, and humanitarian operations at the holy sites, in line with the highest standards of safety and smooth movement for pilgrims. This is being carried out in coordination with various military, security, and civilian sectors, as part of the comprehensive plan implemented by the Ministry of Defence to serve pilgrims during the Hajj season.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Brigadier General Pilot Salman bin Ali Al Qahtani, Commander of the Air Force Hajj Mission Group, told the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) that this year's participation includes modern aircraft equipped with the latest devices and technologies. These aircraft monitor the airspace and oversee traffic movement within the holy sites, in coordination with Public Security, to ensure the smooth flow of crowds to and from the sites.

He explained that the participation aims to ensure the security and safety of pilgrims and to support various field agencies through specialised air missions, including air medical evacuation, transport of teams and equipment, aerial surveillance and reconnaissance, and securing supply lines.

He added that the Air Force also helps secure and monitor air entry points using advanced surveillance systems operated by specialised technical staff to detect hazardous materials, as a precautionary measure to enhance public safety during the Hajj season.
