RHF General Secretary Commends Royal Support for Empowering Widows

Manama: Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Secretary General of the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF), commended the care and attention extended by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Honourary President of the RHF, towards the mothers affiliated with the foundation. He noted that this care reflects the noble humanitarian values established by His Majesty in the foundation's approach and mission.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the statement came on the occasion of the anniversary of the Royal Decree issued on November 4, 2001, to provide care for widows. Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa expressed gratitude to His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, and Chairman of the RHF Board of Trustees, for his support of the foundation and its various initiatives, as well as his directives to enhance developmental programmes that promote family stability and empower women to achieve self-reliance.

Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa underscored that since its establishment, RHF has sponsored 31,855 orphans and widows, including 13,990 widows. Over the years, the foundation has launched numerous initiatives to support and empower widows, including training programmes, small business projects, social and family counseling, educational support, as well as healthcare and developmental services, all aimed at ensuring family stability and welfare.

Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa added that the foundation continues to develop its services in cooperation with governmental entities and the private sector to broaden its support in line with international best practices for empowering Bahraini women. He said that this contributes to enhancing women's independence, transitioning from empowerment to leadership, and creating greater family and social stability.
