Youth Ministry and UNFPA Strengthen Cooperation on Youth Empowerment

Manama: Nani Mohammed Butti, Assistant Undersecretary for Support and Initiatives at the Ministry of Youth Affairs, received Jocelyn Fenard, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) representative for the GCC, residing in Oman.

According to Bahrain News Agency, during the meeting, the Assistant Undersecretary affirmed the Ministry's strong commitment to empowering young people, emphasising their crucial role in driving sustainable development. She underscored that the Ministry has launched numerous initiatives aimed at enhancing youth participation across various development sectors, enhancing their skills, and enabling creativity and innovation.

She commended the partnership between the Ministry of Youth Affairs and UNFPA, which has produced impactful programmes and projects that contribute to advancing the capabilities of Bahraini youth. She highlighted the importance of continuing this cooperation to expand joint initiatives that support the aspirations of young people.

The meeting also reviewed several of the Ministry's youth empowerment initiatives and discussed prospects for further collaboration in the future.

For his part, Fenard expressed his appreciation for the cooperation with Bahrain, commending the Ministry's efforts to empower and support young people. He affirmed UNFA's keenness to continue its partnership and support national efforts aimed at strengthening the role of young people in society.
