Manama: S Eleven Educational and the University of Strathclyde announced the expansion of the university's facilities and academic programs in the Kingdom of Bahrain. This advancement includes the development of the university's campus at Harbour Heights, near Manama, and the launch of innovative postgraduate programs, underscoring their commitment to academic excellence and research innovation in Bahrain. The announcement was made during the Gateway Gulf Forum 2025, Bahrain's leading investment forum hosted by the Bahrain Economic Development Board (Bahrain EDB), held on 2 - 3 November.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the joint project to expand the campus was discussed by Dr. Abdullah Bader Al Sada, General Manager of S Eleven Education, who expressed pride in the partnership with the University of Strathclyde to create world-class facilities that promote learning, research, and innovation. He emphasized that the expansion will provide students with an environment where theoretical knowledge meets practical application.
The University of Strathclyde Bahrain aims to advance academic and research excellence to meet the increasing demand for high-quality programs in business, engineering, and science. This expansion supports Bahrain's goals for human capital development, innovation, and economic diversification, positioning the University as a key contributor to the Kingdom's future.
Ali Al Mudaifa, Chief of Business Development at Bahrain EDB, remarked that the expansion reflects Bahrain's growing reputation as a hub for higher education and innovation. This partnership is expected to nurture future innovators and leaders, strengthening Bahrain's talent pipeline and supporting the knowledge-based economy.
Starting in 2026, Strathclyde Business School will introduce three new master's degree programs in International Management, Economics, and Finance. These programs are designed to prepare students for leadership roles in a global economy, equipping them with skills to tackle complex business challenges while supporting Bahrain's knowledge economy.
The campus expansion, in collaboration with S Eleven Educational, represents a significant investment in the University's infrastructure. Over 40 new academic and administrative staff have been hired to support the University's vision of integrating education with industrial innovation. The project aims to extend learning spaces, enhance research infrastructure, and create thriving environments for students and faculty.
A highlight of the expansion is the addition of four new laboratories in Mechanical, Electrical and Electronic, Chemical, and Civil Engineering, spanning over 2,000 square meters. These state-of-the-art facilities are designed to match the standards of the University's main campus in the UK, providing spaces for hands-on learning and advanced research.
The University continues to offer a wide range of undergraduate programs, including degrees in Business Administration, Marketing, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, and Software Engineering, fostering a diverse and skilled student body.
