RAK Art Foundation and German Embassy Launch “Artists in the Residence” Cultural Initiative

Manama: The German Embassy in Bahrain has unveiled "Artists in the Residence," a unique cultural initiative aimed at transforming the German Ambassador's residence with contemporary Bahraini art. This collaboration showcases the works of renowned Bahraini artists Adnan Al Ahmad and Aysha Hafez, in partnership with the RAK Art Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to empowering artists by providing opportunities for visibility, development, and community connection.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the "Artists in the Residence" project marks a new era in Bahrain-Germany cultural collaboration, enhancing artistic dialogue and fostering mutual appreciation through shared creativity. Clemens Hach, the Ambassador of Germany to Bahrain, expressed his gratitude for the artistic transformation of his residence, noting how the artworks of Al Ahmad and Hafez complemented each other and the space. He extended his thanks to the RAK Art Foundation and the artists for their contributions to the project's success.

Shaikh Rashid Al Khalifa, the Founder of the RAK Art Foundation, emphasized the importance of artistic cooperation and cultural exchange in fostering communication between communities. He described the initiative with the German Embassy as a valuable opportunity for artists to display their work in a new setting and engage with diverse audiences. He reiterated the Foundation's commitment to supporting projects that highlight art's role in creating connections and inspiring individuals.

Adnan Al Ahmad, an alumnus of the ‚¬Å¡¬€¦¡¬€š¬¦¡¬°cole des Beaux-Arts in Besan§on, France, approaches his art with a blend of personal insight and analytical structure. His work merges geometric form with layered composition, shaped by memory, imagination, and emotion. Al Ahmad's scientific and symbolic methodology allows him to reinterpret memories into new visual narratives, resulting in immersive pieces rich with introspection and abstraction.

Aysha Hafez employs limestone as a mold for her creations, capturing both delicacy and structure. Her art explores themes of peace, beauty, and nature, symbolized by elements like birds, doves, and olive branches, offering a poetic reflection on serenity and generosity.
