Muscat: Dr. Rahma bint Ibrahim Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation of the Sultanate of Oman, received Dr. Juma bin Ahmed Al Kaabi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Oman. The meeting underscored the importance of the bilateral relationship between Oman and Bahrain, particularly in the fields of education, research, and innovation. The minister expressed her aspirations for enhanced collaboration in executing the memorandum of understanding and the outcomes derived from the Bahrain-Oman Joint Committee.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Al Kaabi expressed a desire to expand the exchange of expertise and successful experiences in the areas of education, research, and innovation. This aligns with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, who has emphasized the importance of fostering integration between the two nations.
The discussions during the meeting focused on activating cooperation areas as outlined in the memorandum of understanding, particularly in scientific and educational domains. There were also discussions on opportunities to advance joint efforts in innovation centers and technology transfer within higher education institutions. Both representatives examined academic accreditation systems and the potential for exchanging studies and research between higher education institutions in Oman and Bahrain.
