Qatari Prime Minister and UK Defense Secretary Discuss Regional Security Concerns

Doha: Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, received John Healey, Secretary of State for Defence of the United Kingdom.

According to Bahrain News Agency, they reviewed close cooperation between the two countries and means to support it, particularly in defence. They also discussed developments in the military escalation in the region and its serious repercussions on regional and international security and stability, as well as the need to resolve disputes through peaceful means.

The Qatari Prime Minister stressed the need to stop the Iranian attacks on Qatar and countries in the region, warning against irresponsible targeting of vital infrastructure, especially those related to water, food, and energy facilities.

He also emphasised the importance of strengthening coordination, intensifying joint efforts, returning to dialogue, and prioritising reason to contain the crisis in a way that ensures global energy security, freedom of navigation, environmental safety, and regional stability.
