Public Security Chief Chairs National Civil Emergency Management Committee Meeting to Discuss 2025 Agenda

Manama: Lieutenant General Tariq Al Hassan, Chief of Public Security, chaired the third meeting of the National Civil Emergency Management Committee, attended by officials and representatives from various entities to discuss the committee's 2025 work programme. Lt Gen. Al Hassan emphasised that strengthening national preparedness to address potential risks is essential to ensuring community security and safety.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Lt Gen. Al Hassan highlighted the importance of developing emergency response strategies in line with international best practices. He focused on precautionary measures, early warning systems, and public safety awareness to enhance crisis response effectiveness. He also underscored the need to advance Bahrain's emergency management system in accordance with the Civil Defence Council's recommendations, ensuring the highest levels of readiness to protect citizens, residents, and public safety.

During the meeting, the committee's executive office presented an updated national risk register, a key tool for identifying and assessing potential risks in Bahrain, to facilitate proactive mitigation measures and strengthen emergency preparedness. Discussions covered early warning mechanisms for potential crises to ensure effective and timely responses.

The meeting also reviewed the National Training Programme for Resilience Leaders, the National Exercises Programme, and the general plan for managing industrial accidents to enhance safety measures and response capabilities. This includes developing emergency site annexes and establishing the National Emergency Management Centre to coordinate immediate crisis and emergency responses.
