Manama: Ghada Hamid Habib, the Ombudswoman, welcomed David Brownstein, Deputy Chief of Mission at the United States Embassy accredited to the Kingdom of Bahrain. The meeting focused on areas of mutual interest, especially in cooperation for training and skills development.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Ombudswoman informed the Deputy Chief of Mission about key activities recently undertaken by the Ombudsman Office. She also discussed the efforts of the Prisoners and Detainees Rights Commission (PDRC), highlighting its recent field visits.
She emphasized the Commission's collaboration with relevant authorities to support improvements in certain correctional and specialised care facilities. These efforts are part of a broader initiative aimed at enhancing respect for human rights within these institutions.
