Manama: Ali Ahmed Al Derazi, Chairman of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), received Eric Giraud-Telme, Ambassador of the French Republic to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Derazi provided an overview of the NIHR's role in promoting and protecting human rights within Bahrain, outlining its powers and mandate as per the law establishing the institution. He outlined the NIHR's key responsibilities, which include monitoring the human rights situation, receiving complaints, and offering consultations and proposals to the relevant authorities.
The meeting further explored several topics of mutual interest and discussed efforts to enhance cooperation and share expertise. This collaboration aims to support ongoing efforts to promote and raise awareness of human rights in the region.
