Omani Delegation Discusses Expanding Higher Education Partnership with AGU

Manama: Dr. Saad bin Saud Al Fahaid, President of the Arabian Gulf University (AGU), welcomed Dr. Abdullah bin Ali Al Shibli, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Higher Education in the Sultanate of Oman, and his delegation during their visit for AGU's 39th graduating class ceremony, under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

According to Bahrain News Agency, discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in academic support and student services for Omani students to improve their educational experience and meet the development needs of both nations. The Omani delegation reviewed the progress of their students at AGU and praised the university's dedication to academic and administrative services, particularly in the College of Medicine and Health Sciences and the College of Education, Administrative and Technical Sciences.

Dr. Abdullah bin Ali Al Shibli reiterated the Ministry of Education's dedication to expanding educational partnerships with AGU. He stressed regular visits' role in evaluating students' conditions and improving service quality. He also extended congratulations to the graduates and their families, appreciating the well-organized ceremony.

Dr. Saad bin Saud Al Fahaid affirmed AGU's focus on providing a comprehensive educational environment that bolsters students' academic and professional skills. He highlighted that the ongoing graduation of Omani students since 1980 showcases the strength of Gulf relations in academia.

The university president also discussed the Sultan Qaboos Academic Chair for Desert Farming Techniques and Soilless Agriculture, established by the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said, and the need to enhance research collaboration in advanced agricultural technologies to support the GCC's food security and sustainability objectives.

The delegation included Fahd bin Saeed Al Qasabi, Salim bin Saeed Al Shaqsi, and Abdulaziz bin Saeed Al Wahibi, who examined AGU's academic programs and toured facilities like the Medical Skills and Simulation Centre and the Anatomy Museum.

Both parties highlighted the necessity of ongoing coordination and collaboration to ensure optimal educational outcomes and strengthen the learning environment for Omani students.
