Manama: The National Initiative for Agriculture Development (NIAD), in collaboration with Ghosn Al Bahrain, Sanwan Nursery, and Abu Subaie Nursery, announced the completion of planting 200 acacia trees at Al Fateh Mosque. This initiative demonstrates strong community partnerships aimed at promoting sustainable development and increasing vegetative cover.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikha Maram bint Isa Al Khalifa, Secretary General of NIAD, emphasized Al Fateh Grand Mosque's significance as one of the Kingdom's most notable religious landmarks. The mosque, which welcomes thousands of worshippers and visitors, serves as an ideal site for developing green spaces and enhancing the environment.
Asim Abdullatif Abdullah, Undersecretary for Agriculture and Animal Wealth, highlighted the Ministry's support for initiatives aligned with Bahrain's national afforestation plan. This plan seeks to double the number of trees and bolster environmental sustainability. He praised the partnership with NIAD and the private sector, as well as the contributors to the tree-planting initiative at Al Fateh Mosque, which aligns with the goals of the national afforestation strategy.
