NCST and Arabian Gulf University Forge Partnership to Bolster Cybersecurity Initiatives

Manama: The Nasser Centre for Science and Technology (NCST) and Arabian Gulf University convened a collaborative meeting to explore potential partnerships in the realm of cybersecurity. This initiative is a part of ongoing efforts to cultivate skilled Bahraini professionals and bolster Bahrain's digital transformation and cyber resilience.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting was chaired by Dr. Mussab Aswad, Academic Vice Principal at NCST, and Professor Adel Bouhoula, Senior Computer Scientist at Arabian Gulf University. Specialists from both institutions participated in the discussions, which were also attended by Sana Al Kooheji, Director of Industrial Partnership at the Centre.

Discussions focused on leveraging the centre's advanced capabilities, particularly its cybersecurity lab, to equip students with practical and advanced skills. Training opportunities and the development of joint programs were explored to better prepare students for the evolving demands of the labor market in the cybersecurity sector.

Furthermore, both parties examined the potential for developing joint cybersecurity solutions aimed at safeguarding digital infrastructure and enhancing capabilities to counter increasing cyber threats on both regional and global scales. The meeting underscored the significance of expanding collaborative research and development in emerging technologies related to cybersecurity and artificial intelligence, to drive local innovation and support a knowledge-based, technology-driven economy.

The meeting participants stressed the importance of reinforcing cooperation to achieve integration between academic and specialized scientific institutions. A joint working team will be established to create a structured framework for collaboration, including setting priorities and implementation strategies. This framework will encompass training, development, and joint research efforts to support national cybersecurity objectives and prepare national talent for future challenges.
