Foreign Minister Discusses Strait of Hormuz Closure with Palestinian Counterpart

New york: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Varsen Aghabekian, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the State of Palestine, on the sidelines of their participation in the Security Council meetings in New York.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting focused on the longstanding ties between the two countries and explored ways to enhance joint cooperation and coordination across various domains to serve common interests.

The ministers addressed regional developments, particularly the implications of the Strait of Hormuz closure on regional security, stability, and the global economy. They also discussed developments related to the Palestinian cause and exchanged views on the efforts undertaken by the Peace Council to implement the peace plan in Gaza. This includes initiatives for recovery, reconstruction in the Strip, and the delivery of humanitarian aid to meet the needs of the civilian population.

The meeting was attended by Ambassador Jamal Fares Alrowaiei, Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations in New York; Ambassador Saeed Abdulkhaliq Saeed, Head of the Coordination and Follow-up Sector at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Hatem Abdulhameed Hatem, Chief of the Organizations Sector, along with the Minister's accompanying delegation.
