New york: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, on the sidelines of their participation in the Security Council meetings in New York. The meeting focused on the historical ties between the two countries and explored ways to enhance bilateral cooperation across various domains.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the ministers exchanged views on current regional challenges, particularly the repercussions of the Iranian attacks on the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states. They discussed the closure of the Strait of Hormuz to international navigation and evaluated efforts to strengthen cooperation and coordination to advance joint Gulf cooperation. The dialogue also aimed to enhance regional security and stability, in addition to addressing issues of common interest.
The meeting was attended by several key figures, including Shaikh Nahyan bin Saif Al Nahyan, Deputy Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the UAE, Ambassador Saeed Abdulkhaliq Saeed, Head of the Coordination and Follow-up Sector at the Ministry, and Hatem Abdulhameed Hatem, Chief of the Organizations Sector, along with the Minister's accompanying delegation.
