Manama: As part of Bahrain's chairmanship of the Gulf Cooperation Council for 2026, Islam Ahmed Abduljabbar, Director General of the Global Communication Office at the National Communication Centre (NCC), chaired the 38th meeting of the GCC Committee of International Media Officials. The meeting, held via videoconference, was organised by the GCC Secretariat General through its Human and Environmental Affairs Sector - Media Department, in cooperation with NCC.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting featured the participation of representatives from member states' ministries of information and government contact centers, as well as officials from the GCC Secretariat General. Discussions focused on reviewing the decisions of the 28th meeting of the Committee of the Ministers of Information of the GCC countries, particularly initiatives and projects under the GCC joint media cooperation strategic plan (2023-2030) in international media.
Participants also discussed proposed projects for the 2026 strategic plan, explored avenues for international media cooperation with regional and global organisations, and addressed other items on the agenda.
