Isa town: The National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) took part in a tree-planting event at Isa Town Walkway in observance of World Environment Day. Organized in collaboration with the National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD), the event emphasized environmental awareness and tangible actions for environmental protection and resource preservation.
According to Bahrain News Agency, World Environment Day, commemorated annually on June 5, offers an opportunity for NBB to involve its employees and leadership in activities that demonstrate its commitment to sustainability. Zaina Al Zayani, Group Chief Strategy and Sustainability Officer at NBB, remarked on the importance of long-term achievements in sustainability. She highlighted the bank's collaboration with NIAD as a means to enrich the local landscape and promote shared responsibility for environmental protection.
Dr. Asma Ali, Business Development Director at NIAD, emphasized the role of partnerships with national institutions like NBB in supporting local afforestation and enhancing community involvement in environmental initiatives. She noted that the event at Isa Town Walkway underscores the importance of joint efforts in urban development and environmental awareness. These initiatives contribute to improving the quality of life in the Kingdom, aligning with national environmental goals.
