Manama: The Art Centre of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA), in collaboration with the Embassy of Bangladesh to Bahrain, has announced the opening of the exhibition "From the Core to the Periphery: Kaleidoscope Journey". This exhibition features works by contemporary Bangladeshi artists Kuhu, Kanak, Jamal Ahmed, and Mohamed Iqbal. Curated by Nuruzzaman Kaiser, the exhibition is set to open on Sunday, June 7, at 7 pm.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the exhibition is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen cultural ties between Bahrain and Bangladesh. It aims to promote cultural and creative exchange through a platform that showcases contemporary artistic practices and explores new interpretations of Bangladeshi visual arts and their creative and artistic perspectives.
The artworks on display highlight contemporary artistic practices that engage with similar themes while expressing them through different artistic approaches. Together, they highlight the cultural influences shaping Dhaka's art scene, the cultural hub of Bangladesh. The works explore evolving artistic expressions through form and color, while examining the relationship between memory, place, and identity. Some also draw on scenes and details from everyday life, offering fresh perspectives on Bangladesh's artistic and cultural scene.
The exhibition will continue until June 17 and will be open daily from 9 am to 8 pm at the Art Centre.
