National Unity Assembly Condemns Iranian Missile Attack on Qatar

Manama: The National Unity Assembly strongly condemned the attack launched by the Islamic Republic of Iran against the State of Qatar.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Assembly stressed that the incident was a clear violation of international law and the principles of the United Nations Charter, as well as an unacceptable assault on the sovereignty of a fellow Gulf state with which Bahrain shares close ties.

Nedhal Al Shomali, Chairman of the National Unity Assembly, affirmed the Assembly's full support for Qatar and its right to take any measures needed to protect its national security and sovereignty. He also expressed strong support for the people of Qatar in facing this incident.

The National Unity Assembly further expressed its support for the official position of the Kingdom of Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and for the stance of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

The Assembly emphasised the importance of maintaining the security and stability of the GCC states and deterring any actions that threaten their sovereignty or the safety of their citizens.
