Manama: National figures emphasised that the Kingdom of Bahrain continues its firm approach to supporting regional and international peace, guided by the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, which upholds wise diplomacy, tolerance, respect for sovereignty, and peaceful coexistence.
According to Bahrain News Agency, they made their statements on the occasion of the United Nations International Day of Peace, observed on September 21 under the 2025 theme 'Act Now for a Peaceful World'. They said Bahrain, led by HM the King, has become a model of dialogue, openness, and international partnerships that strengthen security and stability.
Nancy Dina Ely Khudori, member of the Shura Council's Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security Committee and the Human Rights Committee, said Bahrain's participation reflects its commitment to coexistence and tolerance. She added that Bahrain consolidates its global role as a haven of peace by fostering interfaith dialogue, adopting policies of respect and rejecting hatred and extremism. She pointed to initiatives such as the Bahrain Declaration and the King Hamad Chair for Interfaith Dialogue and Peaceful Coexistence as milestones in spreading the culture of peace locally and internationally.
Abdulla Al Rumaihi, member of the Council of Representatives' Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security Committee, said Bahrain, under HM the King's leadership, has become a global model of coexistence and tolerance through practical policies and initiatives that reinforce openness and moderation. He said these efforts strengthened Bahrain's civilisational image and enhanced its standing as a nation that supports peace and stability regionally and globally.
Professor Abdulla Al Hawaj, Founding President of Ahlia University, said Bahrain has established itself as a nation of peace through initiatives and institutions such as the King Hamad Global Centre for Coexistence and Tolerance, which reflect HM the King's vision of a world built on justice, mutual respect, and dialogue. He added that Bahrain is a unique model where religions and sects coexist freely and respectfully and emphasised that peace and tolerance are deeply rooted in society.
Reverend Hani Aziz, Pastor of the National Evangelical Church of Bahrain, said Bahrain has adopted peace as a comprehensive approach based on justice and equal opportunities. He commended HM the King and HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for charting a clear roadmap for coexistence and tolerance.
Dr. Shamsan Al Mannai, an academic specialising in the humanities and social sciences, said Bahrain's location and history made it a home for cultural and intellectual diversity. He added that this legacy has been strengthened through legal and institutional initiatives and international awards supporting humanity, empowering women and youth, and advancing sustainable development.
Betsy B. Mathieson, Chairperson of This is Bahrain Society, said the Kingdom has welcomed all religions, cultures, and nationalities throughout its history, allowing them to live side by side in harmony. She described Bahrain as a multicultural mosaic that thrives on mutual respect and goodwill.
Salman Naser, Chief Human Rights Activists Group, commended Bahrain's civilisational model based on respect for others. He said the Kingdom adopts a refined human diplomacy that makes peace a lasting national and international project, and highlighted initiatives such as the Bahrain Declaration, the King Hamad Global Centre for Coexistence and Tolerance, and interfaith dialogue, which he said make Bahrain a role model in supporting security.
Dr. Hiyam Al Sabah, writer and human development expert, said Bahrain has embedded peace, coexistence, and tolerance as a steady approach supported by initiatives that encourage dialogue, respect, and shared living. She added that Bahrain represents a true oasis of peace and a civilisational model that reflects its regional and international standing in promoting security, stability, and closer relations among peoples.
