National Commission for Childhood Holds First Meeting After Reformation

Manama: Osama bin Saleh Al Alawi, Minister of Social Development, chaired the first meeting of the National Commission for Childhood following its reformation, in the presence of commission members and representatives of relevant entities. At the outset, the minister congratulated the members on their appointment and wished them success in carrying out their responsibilities. He emphasised the commission's important role in coordinating national efforts to protect and promote children's rights in the Kingdom of Bahrain, in line with national priorities and the Kingdom's international commitments.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting reviewed the commission's composition and mandate and discussed key elements of its upcoming work plan, including protection and rehabilitation programmes and restorative justice for children. The meeting came as part of the Ministry of Social Development's efforts to enhance institutional integration in child protection and reinforce partnerships with concerned entities to advance national policies and programmes supporting children's rights.
