Manama: Faiq Ali Dhaif, Undersecretary for Financial Audit at the National Audit Office (NAO), participated in the 26th Meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council audit institutions undersecretaries.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting, which was held remotely, addressed various topics on its agenda. Participants discussed the recommendations and outcomes of the Strategic Training Plan for the period 2023 - 2025, as well as the draft Strategic Training Plan for 2026 - 2028, which was prepared by NAO.
The meeting also delved into the results of the sixth edition of the GCC competition for audit and accounting research and studies. Approval was granted to submit these results to the Heads of Financial and Accounting Audit Institutions for endorsement, paving the way for honoring the winners.
Further discussions were held on the proposal from the audit rules working group regarding the impact measurement form for applying the guidelines issued by the GCC General Secretariat. The proposal to change the working group's name to the "Technical Committee of Audit and Accounting Institutions in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) States" was also considered.
Additionally, the meeting reviewed the General Secretariat's report on training programs implemented during 2024 - 2025, a memorandum of understanding between the King Fahad National Library and the GCC General Secretariat, and the draft agenda for the 22nd meeting of the Heads of Financial and Accounting Audit Institutions in the GCC States.
