iGA and Royal Academy of Police Collaborate on AI Training to Boost Public Security Sector

Manama: In a strategic move to enhance artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities within Bahrain's public security sector, the Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA) has initiated discussions with the Royal Academy of Police. This collaboration is in response to directives from General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Information Technology and Communication (MCICT).

According to Bahrain News Agency, led by Mohammed Ali Al Qaed, Chief Executive of the iGA, and Major General Fawaz Hassan Al Hassan, Commander of the Royal Academy of Police, the collaboration seeks to establish an integrated framework for developing innovative solutions. It also aims to deliver specialized training for Ministry of Interior members to enhance their technical proficiency and operational effectiveness.

The discussions emphasized the adoption of rapidly evolving AI technologies, which can significantly enhance performance and innovation. Both parties are exploring the design of targeted training programs for Ministry of Interior team members at all levels and specialties to strengthen their technical and practical AI abilities. The objective is to ensure effective and sustainable use of these advanced technologies.

Further talks highlighted the importance of strengthening bilateral coordination and promoting continuous learning by leveraging the iGA's innovations and success in digital transformation. These efforts are intended to support the adoption of advanced digital tools that align with the evolving needs of security operations and contribute to building a leading national model in this critical domain.

The collaboration also plans to utilize the Royal Academy of Police's facilities for hosting specialized workshops, training programs, and seminars. This initiative aims to create an interactive educational environment that facilitates knowledge transfer and enhances the preparedness of security personnel.

As part of the collaboration, a series of mutual visits will be organized to support experience and knowledge exchange. Recently, a tour of the iGA's Innovation Hub was conducted, where Latifa Al Abbasi, iGA Director of Innovation and Advanced Technologies, presented key AI-powered initiatives. The session explored opportunities for hands-on training and the development of customized programs to further enhance the AI competencies of Ministry of Interior personnel.
