Tashkent: Mohamed Ould Errachid, Speaker of the House of Councillors of Morocco, engaged in discussions with Yerlan Koshanov, Chairman of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, on the sidelines of the 150th Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly held in Uzbekistan. The meeting focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Koshanov underscored the importance of leveraging the strategic positions and economic capacities of Morocco and Kazakhstan to boost trade and economic activities. He proposed the creation of a logistical platform that would facilitate stronger trade exchanges between the two nations.
Koshanov also stressed the significance of reinforcing parliamentary cooperation, highlighting the crucial role legislative bodies play in fostering relations and bringing countries and their peoples closer together.
Ould Errachid echoed the sentiment, stating that the dialogue reflects a mutual desire to establish a 'regular and lasting' parliamentary partnership. He emphasized the necessity of enhancing trade between Morocco and Kazakhstan and welcomed the bilateral agreement to establish a joint government commission and a Morocco-Kazakhstan business council. Additionally, he expressed support for strengthening logistical connections between the two countries.
Furthermore, Ould Errachid called for increased coordination within international organizations and emphasized the need for unified efforts on global issues. He pointed out that cooperation on international initiatives is vital to addressing challenges such as food security, health, and climate change.
