Speaker Congratulates Bahrain Journalists Association on Silver Jubilee

Manama: Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, extended his congratulations to Isa Al Shayji, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Journalists Association (BJA), as the organization marks its 25th anniversary, celebrating its silver jubilee.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Speaker acknowledged the national and professional role played by the BJA since its inception during the reign of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. Al Musallam emphasized the significant contribution of the national journalism sector in informing public opinion and highlighting the Kingdom of Bahrain's progress.

Al Musallam further praised the BJA for its efforts in enhancing media competencies, nurturing journalistic talent, and maintaining a credible press mission. He also recognized the association's effective national representation abroad and its collaboration with Gulf and Arab media to promote key issues and preserve national identity.

He concluded by noting the Council of Representatives' appreciation for the role of the BJA and the national press. He emphasized the Council's support for their contribution to national initiatives, highlighting their importance as vital partners in public and parliamentary affairs. The BJA plays a crucial role in conveying the legislative authority's work to society and voicing the aspirations of the nation and its citizens.
